Recently, Hua Yikai, founder of Ningbo Meisuo Home Textile Co., Ltd., received news that a Russian client would return to place another order. Speaking of this repeat customer, Hua found it particularly interesting: it was precisely due to Meisuo's product quality that the company inadvertently won client recognition and secured continuous orders.
Ningbo Meisuo Home Textile specializes in producing and selling goose down quilt cores, bedspreads, and other home textile products. Earlier this year, while customizing automatic shaping equipment at a supplier's facility, the company brought along a bedspread sample that caught the eye of a Russian client who was also there to order equipment. After thorough comparison, the client found Meisuo's bedspreads superior in craftsmanship, design, and durability compared to ordinary home textiles, sparking his interest in collaboration.
In Western bedding configurations, a thin bedspread is often used alongside sheets for dustproof and moisture-resistant purposes, requiring high durability and waterproof features. Impressed by Meisuo's quality, the Russian client visited the company for an inspection shortly afterward. Upon seeing Meisuo's bright, tidy, and orderly production workshop, he immediately placed an order for over 10,000 bedspreads, which were shipped in late April. Now, with news of the client's return visit, Hua Yikai—new to the home textile industry—feels increasingly confident in his development strategy.
Hua remarked: "Though Meisuo Home Textile was established just one year ago, we have already developed multiple lines of goose down quilt cores and bedspreads while implementing a brand-driven market strategy. This year, thanks to our product quality, we've consistently received orders from Russia, South Korea, and other countries." During a tour of Meisuo's sample room, Hua expressed strong confidence in their products, emphasizing that their high-quality, reasonably priced goose down quilt cores have carved out a competitive edge in domestic and international markets. This success has emboldened the young company to pursue brand-oriented competition.
Located in Baisha Road Subdistrict—a renowned "knitting hub" clustered with traditional textile enterprises—Meisuo stands out as a rare home textile manufacturer in Cixi. Unlike peers who inherited family textile factories, Hua Yikai, a UK-educated entrepreneur with experience in Shanghai and Shenzhen, persuaded his father Hua Kongjie to establish Meisuo. As Hua put it: "Inheritance isn't about replication, but about injecting new energy into traditional industries through innovative thinking."
While the home textile market is saturated with established brands, Hua believes there remains vast potential. By leveraging his father's decades of textile industry expertise, Meisuo sources premium materials like goose down and gauze while adopting automated cutting, filling, and shaping equipment to enhance production efficiency. Hua asserts that high-quality products at moderate prices will fuel Meisuo's rise.
With a dual focus on domestic and international markets, Hua plans to adopt a factory-outlet model, spotlighting premium goose down quilt cores to attract consumer interest in Cixi-made home textiles. This strategy aims to guide local textile industries toward producing higher-value home textile products rather than low-margin traditional fabrics.
